Calling all youth artists in Kingston–Galloway/Orton Park!

Are you passionate about poetry, community arts, and creative placemaking? Scarborough Arts is seeking two artist mentees to join Cultural Hotspots: KGO & Poetry as Gathering, an exciting new mentorship opportunity in collaboration with Tender Possibilities.

Working alongside poet and facilitator Farhia Tato, selected mentees will help shape and deliver a community-based poetry program in the Kingston-Galloway/Orton Park neighbourhood, while gaining hands-on experience in arts facilitation, community engagement, program development, and artist mentorship.

  • $2,600 Honorarium

  • Access to workspace at Scarborough Arts

  • 100 Hours, June–October 2026

Mentees will contribute to program design, poet curation, outreach activities, and poetry workshops that bring together youth, young adults, and older adults through shared cultural experiences.
