In this 8-week course, participants will learn and better understand what sound art encompasses, fundamentals for recording audio, and the endless audio experiments that can emerge using simple editing and processing techniques. We'll read short texts, listen to examples of sound art, practise recording different types of audio, and experiment with sound art pieces of our own! Participants will get the chance to practise conducting short interviews, record found sound, and create their own sound art piece.
DISCLAIMER: This program will not explore music production, or DJ-ing. Participants will need access to a computer for audio editing, as well as a smartphone or audio recording device to capture audio.
Date and time: Wednesdays 6-8 PM (EST) from January 28-March 18, 2026
Location: Virtual via Zoom
