Scarborough Arts Announces A Series of Two Summer Community Events: The World in a Block Party

Scarborough, ON — Scarborough Arts is pleased to announce a series of two community events coming this June: The World in a Block Party, presented as part of a Destination Scarborough event in partnership with Eat More Scarborough.

These large-scale, free public events will celebrate Scarborough’s rich arts, cultural, and food identity by transforming everyday public and private spaces into vibrant, multi-day block party experiences. Featuring artist-led activations, food tastings, recreational events, live music, and performance, the events invite residents and visitors alike to experience the creativity and diversity of Scarborough in new and immersive ways.

The first weekend will take place near Birchmount Park on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, 2026, with community activities supported by Borough FC. The second weekend, presented in partnership with Scarborough Town Centre, will take place on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 2026 at STC.

Both events are supported by the City of Toronto’s Community Celebration Support Fund, with additional funding from Ontario Arts Council, Delta Bingo & Gaming, and the Government of Canada. Live stage programming will be presented in collaboration with RISE Edutainment, and community activities for Scarborough Southwest are supported by Borough FC.

Destination Scarborough is a collaboration between Scarborough Arts and Eat More Scarborough, showcasing the borough’s vibrant restaurants, arts scene, businesses, and cultural institutions. The platform invites locals and visitors from Toronto and beyond to experience the Scarborough vibe and the artistry thriving in our diverse communities.

Scarborough Arts is a Toronto Local Arts Service Organization that exists to amplify, connect, and animate the most creatively alive place in Toronto. We serve as Scarborough’s primary cultural engine by brokering high-impact partnerships, providing professional support, and delivering inclusive programming that animates our public spaces. We envision Scarborough with a thriving, connected, and resourced arts ecosystem where creativity is woven into the fabric of daily life.

Eat More Scarborough invites you to explore the rich, multicultural food scene of Scarborough! Their guided, interactive tours are more than just a chance to eat—they’re an experience that blends incredible flavours with the stories behind them. Each tour combines food tastings with cultural insights: the history behind the dishes, the journeys of the entrepreneurs who make them, and the role food plays in shaping the community.
