Introducing Scarborough Arts’ New Board Members!

Scarborough Arts is thrilled to announce the addition of three new members to our Board of Directors! A warm welcome to our new Chair of the Board of Directors, Alice Walter, and our new Directors, Pierre Bussieres and Katrina Salvador 🎉. 

Joining them are our returning members including Rodney Yip our Vice Chair, Amer Al-Shaar our Treasurer, and Directors Jason Liang and Johnny Zhang. We thank them for their continued contributions in guiding and supporting our work, as well as the local arts community.

 

Alice Walter, Chair of the Board of Directors, is an arts professional and arts activist who has been creating art in Scarborough and facilitating opportunities for young artists over the last 30 years. She co-founded and served as Artistic Director of Cliffhanger Productions, which operated at the Guild Inn for nine years, was General Manager for Mixed Company Theatre, and taught at R.H. King Academy where she developed the first Specialist in Arts and Culture Arts Management high school program in Toronto. 

Pierre Bussieres, Director, brings a background in the music industry and a lifelong passion for the arts. As VP Finance at Six Shooter Records, she oversees financial strategy and administration in support of the label’s award-winning roster. She has contributed to the Canadian music industry as a FACTOR Juror, JUNO Judge, CIMA Committee Member, and RBC Emerging Musician Program Judge.

Katrina Salvador, Director, has brought creativity, passion, and purpose to her role in Exhibit Design at the Toronto Zoo for nearly two decades. Katrina blends artistic vision with environmental awareness to create meaningful, educational spaces. As a Scarborough Arts Board Member, she brings her dedication to inclusive design, community engagement, and creative placemaking to spark meaningful change through the arts.
