Scarborough Arts is Hiring for EAST H.E.A.R.T. 2025-2026

We’re looking for passionate, creative, and community-focused 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 18–29 to join our team for this year’s EAST H.E.A.R.T. (Health, Education, Art, Resilience, Together) program.

EAST H.E.A.R.T. is a visual arts program that engages 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Scarborough through creative workshops, peer mentorship, and inclusive sexual health and wellbeing education, culminating in a public art exhibition.

 

We’re looking for Scarborough-based 2SLGBTQ+ youth who have a visual arts practice, whether in painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, digital art, or other mediums.

Ideal candidates are passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces for their peers. Ideal candidates are leaders and collaborators who are eager to make a positive impact in their community through creativity, connection, and mentorship.

Positions Available:


Youth Coordinator (Full-time)
Hours & Term:
32 hrs/week, September 2025 – June 2026
Compensation: $25/hr


Peer Mentors (Part-time, x2 Availabilities)
Hours & Term:
10 hrs/week, October 2025 – June 2026
Compensation: $20/hr

EAST H.E.A.R.T. (Health, Education, Art, Resilience, Together) program is a by-and-for youth program for 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Scarborough ages 18-29, and uses the universal medium of arts and creativity to encourage healthy, innovative forms of self-expression; foster a sustainable, enriching relationship with the arts; teach broadly based transferable life skills about relationships and sexual health; provide new and engaging social experiences. This program is funded and made possible by the City of Toronto, Toronto Urban Health Fund, Ontario Arts Council, Delta Gaming and Bingo.
