We’re Hiring a Communications Manager
Scarborough Arts is seeking a creative, collaborative, and community-minded Communications Manager to join our team.
This full-time position is an opportunity for an experienced communications professional interested in arts and culture, community engagement, storytelling, and building meaningful connections across Scarborough. Working closely with the Executive Director and Scarborough Arts team, the Communications Manager will lead marketing and communications initiatives, support community outreach and partnerships, and help tell the story of Scarborough Arts’ work to community members, artists, partners, funders, and audiences.

Compensation: $63,000–$65,000

Working Location: Scarborough Arts Offices at 793 Pharmacy Ave., Toronto, ON M1L 3K2 (closest intersection: Eglinton and Pharmacy), with various in-person program and event locations across Scarborough. Some flexibility for hybrid work, with a minimum of 3–4 days per week in person.
The Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing marketing and communications strategies, including social media, newsletters, website updates, program promotion, press releases, and other communications materials. The role will also support community outreach and engagement, program evaluation, partnership development, funding proposals, and the ongoing growth of Scarborough Arts’ community and organizational networks.
We’re looking for someone who is self-directed, organized, creative, and an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working with diverse communities. Experience in marketing and communications, community arts, or arts administration is preferred. Experience with visual storytelling and platforms such as Canva and Adobe is an asset, as is experience managing staff, interns, co-op students, or volunteers.
Priority will be given to Scarborough residents or individuals with knowledge and experience working and/or living in the Scarborough community.
